A number of recent reports from Italy have suggested that Serie A table toppers Milan aren't satisfied with the performances of Netherlands international Urby Emanuelson, and that the versatile midfielder could be on his way out of the San Siro this summer.
Goal.com spoke with the former Ajax star about his future at the Rossoneri and Emanuelson made it clear that he's not going anywhere.
"Those rumours don't affect me, because I know exactly what my status is at Milan. I train here every day and I know how the club feels about me. Obviously, it's not a nice thing to read that the club isn't satisfied, because all kind of sources will run the story," said Emanuelson to Goal.com.
"People in Holland already started saying that I had made the wrong choice by joining Milan, but that's absolutely not the case. I need some time to adapt to Italy, but the club's giving me all the support I need."
The left footed midfielder then stated that the presence of Clarence Seedorf at i Diavoli is really helpful for him.
"He's really supportive and helpful. I'm new here and the fact that there's someone around to help you is very comforting. Milan are a very warm club and I've never had the feeling that I was all on my own. I'm slowly learning to speak Italian and I already understand most things."
Emanuelson also took the time to explain why he doesn't get much playing time at left-back and made it clear that he has set his sights on a spot in midfield.
He concluded: "The reason that I don't play at left-back is because the club signed me as a midfielder. Milan know that I can also play at the back, but that's not my preferred position. I'm battling it out with Kevin-Prince Boateng for one spot in midfield. I can always start focusing on the left-back position later on."
