Despite losing 2-0 to Inter on Sunday evening, Sampdoria midfielder Andrea Poli says if the Blucerchiati continue to play like they did, the results will eventually come their way.
"We played a really good match," the 21-year-old told the club's official website. " We were taking on a strong side in Inter - one of the best in the world.
"We did not disgrace ourselves. We may not have scored a goal, but constructed many chances to score. We were unlucky [as he hit the post in the first half], and things are not going in our favour at the moment.
"Playing like we did, we can obtain results."
Poli says he is now starting to adapt to his new role that coach Domenico Di Carlo has asked him to play.
"I am adapting to the role the coach has asked me to play," he continued. "I am doing my best to contribute to the side, and if the possibility to get forward more arrives, I will seek to be ready.
"We have a week to prepare our clash against Cesena, and am convinced we can claim more points. If we play like we did against Inter, we can do well."
