Sampdoria coach Domenico Di Carlo believes his side put in a strong performance against Inter, but lacked something up front.
Di Carlo says his three new strikers in Massimo Maccarone, Jonathan Biabiany and Federico Macheda need more time to get accustomed to playing with the rest of the team.
"I think that Samp returned to having a good attitude and playing to its strengths," the tactician told Tuttomercatoweb after the match. "We may have played at home earning zero points, but this performance gives us hope for the future.
"Looking back from the end of January to now, I can see how much the side has changed. The strikers are all new with the arrival of Maccarone, Macheda and Biabiany, who still need to work with the team to learn about their positioning.
"We no longer have a centre-forward like [Giampaolo] Pazzini [who moved to Inter during the winter transfer window] and the team needs to also adapt.
"I have nothing to complain about from this evening," he concluded.
