Inter president Massimo Moratti is delighted with his team's response as Milan's dominance in Serie A continues to run thin.
The Nerazzurri find themselves in a well-heeled position following their storming 5-3 win over Roma on Sunday night.
And Moratti insists the heat is on Milan - victims of their own downfall - as the window of opportunities come into view.
"The Milan result gave us motivation and it stimulated the players," Moratti told Il Corriere dello Sport.
"The players were stimulated and you can see we have a crazy enthusiasm and I like this.
"It was a great game and I enjoyed it even though it was difficult trying to overcome Roma.
"All the new players did very well, but I especially want to compliment Julio Cesar who was a real champion."
Juventus are up next for Inter, and Moratti expects an exciting derby d'Italia.
"Inter - Juventus or Juventus - Inter has always been the derby d'Italia and it has always been important. We hope everything goes tranquil," he said.
