Fiorentina star Adrian Mutu may continue his career at the club, according to Viola shareholder Andrea Della Valle.
Mutu recently apologised for his actions that saw him abandon a training session in early January. Since that time the 32-year-old has been left out of coach Sinisa Mihajlovic's squad.
"I am sorry for this situation. I made a mistake leaving my team, my coach and the club. The fact is I was badly advised by my former agent," Mutu said at a press conference on Wednesday.
Della Valle seems to have accepted the player's plea and admitted the Romanian star could be reinstated.
"I appreciate the words by Mutu after the seriousness of what he had done," he explained to Ansa.
"Adrian asked me to meet him. I appreciated what he had to say and the team appreciated his apology.
"Is he on the path to reinstatement? We will decide in the coming days. He could return to the squad but for now I cannot say. Certainly, as I said two weeks ago, Mutu is not for sale."
