Inter Captain Javier Zanetti: Greatest Moment Was 2007 Scudetto

Zanetti picks out best moment as he approaches 519th appearance...
Inter captain Javier Zanetti has looked back on his career on the eve of making his 519th appearance for the club since joining them in 1995.

Zanetti has come a long way since then, winning countless honours and a historic treble last year. But the one oustanding achievement is winning the 2007 Scudetto.

The club captain is due to make his 519th appearance for the club against Bologna this weekend, a tally which will equal former defender Giuseppe Bergomi, and speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Zanetti said: "I will never forget my debut at San Siro... I had never seen 70,000 fans on my side.

"But the unforgettable game was Siena 2007, the first Scudetto on the pitch."

Happiness and sadness came via unlikely sources though.

"I couldn't stop myself from laughing when [Taribo] West threw his shirt at [Mircea] Lucescu's face, while I cried when Ronaldo injured himself against Lazio," he added.
