Amidst reports that Andrea Barzagli is on the verge of joining Juventus, the Wolfsburg defender himself has confirmed talks between the two clubs are taking place.
The 29-year-old has often been linked with a return to Serie A, despite playing a regular role for the struggling German club this season. He admitted he would favour a move to the Bianconeri, where he would compete for a place in the centre of defence with Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.
"Juve are certainly an important solution for me and I am glad there is some interest," he was quoted as saying by Sky Sport 24.
"I don't know anything about the details of the negotiations, the two clubs are speaking and then we'll see what happens."
Barzagli is expected to cost the Turin giants next to nothing as his contract with the Germans is due to expire in the summer. Instead, the Italians may offer Wolfsburg a discount on their continuing payments following their acquisition of Diego last summer.
