As Fiorentina came from behind to defeat Brescia in a five goal thriller, patron Andrea Della Valle commented on his side’s performance and shed light on the situation regarding outlawed hitman Adrian Mutu.
“We came back but we mustn’t always put ourselves in such situations,” he declared to SkySport.
“The first half was terrible but then the side showed its true worth.
“Unfortunately we haven’t managed to climb out from the bottom half of the standings yet and we are desperate to change this in the second half of the season.
“We need to put right our slow starts to games but I’m sure coach [Sinisa] Mihajlovic will resolve the problem.
“With regards to the situation surrounding Mutu I never had any fears that it could affect the rest of the side.
“The club has stuck by him for over a year and he is now out of the squad for a disgraceful behaviour towards his teammates.
“I also consider him off the transfer market, and any further discussions will only take place using the necessary legal channels as we have broken down all talks with the player’s agent.”
