Inter Striker Goran Pandev Voted Macedonian Player Of The Year

Highly rated Inter attacker Goran Pandev has been named Macedonia's foreign-based Player of the Year following his successful 2009-10 season with the Nerazzurri.

The captain of Macedonia's national side finished ahead of Mainz defender Nikolce Noveski and Dynamo Kiev wing-back Goran Popov in the poll of Football Federation of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FFM) regional associations, experts, the media and fans.

It's the fifth time that Pandev has scooped up the prestigious Macedonian award. The former Lazio star previously won the trophy in 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008.

FK Rabotnicki goalkeeper Martin Bogatinov was voted best domestic Macedonian player. The 24-year-old only just missed out on reaching the group stage of the Europa League with his club and also made his international debut in 2010.

Parma midfielder Stefan Ristovski was celebrated as young player of the year having moved to Italy from FK Vardar upon turning 18.

The Inter forward has climbed to 715th position in the Castrol Rankings following his good performances in recent weeks.
