Lazio's move for Werder Bremen striker Hugo Almeida is gaining momentum and they are planning to offer €4million in January to complete the deal.
Il Corriere dello Sport reports the Italian side have designed a strong action plan that could see the 26-year-old Portuguese hitman arrive in the capital.
As part of the deal Lazio will offer Werder a €4m cash deal, and will convince the player to sign a five-year contract worth €1.8m per annum.
Dialogue between the clubs and player's agent Jorge Mendes has continued, and further developments are expected in January.
Klaus Allofs, Werder's sporting director, admits negotiations are taking place for the sale of Almeida.
"I admit we are dealing to sell the player, but it all depends on what official offers arrive," said Allofs.
