The Best Day I've Had This Year - Fiorentina Star Adrian Mutu

Fiorentina's Adrian Mutu was ecstatic after scoring the winner against Cagliari.
Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu was decisive in a 1-0 win over Cagliari on sunday, scoring the lone goal of the game from a header early in the second-half. The Romanian is pleased to be back amongst the goals after a difficult period in his career that included being banned for nine months after failing a doping test last season.

"I thank the fans for supporting me during and after my suspension," he said to Sky, after being chosen as 'man of the match.'

"It's the best day for me in 2010. One of the few happy ones, this unlucky time is over."

The Viola handed coach Roberto Donadoni his first loss as Cagliari boss, but it was a very clsoe contest at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

"Against Cagliari ti was difficult, we knew it wouldn't be simple, but the wins are more beautiful when you sweat for them," continued the 31-year-old.

"[Alberto] Gilardino? When he returns from injury he will resume his usual post. He is the best."
