Argentinian youngster Erik Lamela has attracted the interest of Serie A powerhouse Juventus with his outstanding performances for River Plate in the past couple of months, according to a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Bianconeri are looking to add some promising youngsters to their squad to prepare for the future and sporting director Giuseppe Marotta supposedly sees the 18-year-old Lamela as a good addition to the Juventus squad.
Lamela is a product of the illustrious River Plate youth academy and has developed into a first team regular at Los Millonarios since making his official debut in June 2009. The attacking midfielder is regarded as one of the most promising youngsters around in South Europe.
Juventus face stiff competition in the race for the left footed midfielder's signature though. Clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Napoli have also been linked with a move for Lamela.
