Rafael Benitez Is Not In Danger Of Being Sacked At Inter - Wesley Sneijder

Inter are now six points behind league leaders Milan following the disappointing 1-0 loss in the Derby della Madonnina, leaving the Italian media questioning coach Rafael Benitez's future at the club.

However, midfielder Wesley Sneijder insists that the former Liverpool boss will be staying put.

"I've had enough of Rafa's name in the papers. These are just boring and annoying rumours. We must stop all these boos and criticisms because the Spaniard is a good coach," he explained, according to Tuttosport.

"I'll take my share of the blame for the situation. The team that won the Champions League was made up of 22 lions. The same is true today and we will do well with Benitez.

"Now we have to do well in Serie A and the Champions League. Then we'll play in the World Club Cup. The Ballon d'Or is just a bonus, but I'd like to win it."

Meanwhile, the Dutchman praised the San Siro crowd on Sunday evening, who made supportive banners and sang positive songs during the match.

"It was a fantastic emotion, that's what football is all about. I've seen a lot of respect between the fans of Inter and AC Milan. I really enjoyed it and I am very proud of the Nerazzurri fans. I want to thank them," he concluded.
