Antonio Cassano has reportedly taken action against Sampdoria over the club looking for a contract termination, the player having now responded by demanding compensation for his damaged image.
The contract termination is currently being reviewed to analyse whether Sampdoria can break their ties with Cassano over the row with club president Riccardo Garrone.
According to Football Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport, the player, seeking €1 million compensation for his damaged image, believed matters were solved over the phone but then refused to sign a formal apology.
The arbitration process could take until the end of the year before decreeing as to whether Sampdoria can in fact terminate Cassano's contract.
