Sampdoria president Riccardo Garrone has meted out the blame and claims the repsonsibility lies solely upon Antonio Cassano for the conflict which has engulfed the club.
Despite two apologies from Cassano - both seem to have been ignored - Garrone claims a network of bitter conflict has led the club to the point of no return.
"I saw the interview from the other night," Garrone told Il Secolo XIX.
"And it's Cassano's fault. I believed he had changed attitude and that he was mature.
"Instead, my evaluation of the man was wrong."
Sampdoria have applied for the rescission of Cassano's contract after he allegedly swore at the chief, something the player firmly denies.
