I Never Insulted Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone - Antonio Cassano

Antonio Cassano has shed more light onto his bust-up with Sampdoria chief Riccardo Garrone.
Antonio Cassano insists he never insulted Sampdoria president Riccardo Garrone as he tries to stitch together a rescue plan at the club in a desperate attempt at salvaging his career at the Marassi.

Cassano faces a frustrating wait as his club have applied for a contract rescission through the Lega Serie A after he verbally abused Garrone.

The Italian forward has already apologised once, but that was ignored.

And he has said sorry again, but maintains he is not solely to blame for the tension at Bogliasco.

"I never called the president an old s***. But this is not the right place to protect my image. My lawyer will sort that out," he told TG5.

"I used the wrong tones and I admit I was wrong. We had a disagreement, but it's not just my fault.

"People are making me look like a terrorist. But as I am the smallest I have to say sorry."

Cassano's representatives have sent an official request to the club for him to restart training.
