Inter Chief Massimo Moratti Won't Give Up Chase For Barcelona's Lionel Messi

Inter president Massimo Moratti still keen on Barcelona's Lionel Messi.
Inter chief Massimo Moratti will not give up on Barcelona ace Lionel Messi, despite the striker giving reports scant attention.

Messi said he understood Moratti's interest to be a joke on Tuesday, but the Italian chief suggested he was serious about buying him.

“Contrary to the way in which his words were reported, Messi was very kind," Moratti told Sky Sport Italia.

“Messi said: 'Moratti is very kind, I believe he was joking but it makes me happy'.

"Anyway, it wasn't a complete joke and the thing with jokes is that you never know how they are going to end.”

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Inter are after Tottenham's Gareth Bale.

Juventus have also been linked with the Welshman who scored a stunning hat-trick against the Nerazzurri in the Champions League.
