Inter Deny Sulley Muntari Claimed He Wanted To Leave The Club For Premier League Life

Inter have denied their midfielder Sulley Muntari told the media he wanted to leave the club for Tottenham.

On Wednesday Sky Sports.com published an interview in which they quoted Muntari as saying he wanted to leave the club following a lack of football.

Talk of an exit became resonant after the player was seen leaving the San Siro during the derby d'Italia against Juventus on Sunday.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed he threw a tantrum for being excluded from the match squad, only then to claim he had apologised for his actions.

That led to speculative reports claiming an exit was imminent.

But Inter have stepped in to deny Muntari spoke about a possible exit.

A statement on the club's official website reads:

"The midfielder Sulley Muntari would like to express, across Inter.it, that he 'has never given any interview or comments over the last few days.'

"On Wednesday, October 6, some claims appeared on Sky Sports.com. But the midfielder would like to inform that he has never spoken to that site and, in general, with any other media."
