Roma Confirm Adriano Has Not Suffered Ankle Ligament Damage Following Training Ground Injury

Adriano has escaped serious ligament damage following tests to his injured ankle, Roma confirmed on Friday.

But his presence for the Napoli clash remains in doubt as he needs physiotherapy and further tests.

Adriano went down with a problem during Thursday's training session when a clash with Guillermo Burdisso forced him to stop.

Tests on Friday showed he has not damaged ligaments, leaving Roma to breathe a sigh of relief.

"AS Roma S.p.A communicates that Adriano underwent tests at the Gemelli Polyclinic following the injury he sustained to his left ankle on Thursday.

"The exams which followed excluded ligament damage, but the player's condition will be revalued over the next few days."

Thus Adriano is unlikely to feature at the San Paolo on Sunday.
