Inter midfielder Wesley Sneijder has responded to comments made by his agent earlier today who said that the Dutchman could make a return to Real Madrid.
After reports suggested the contract renewal between the Netherlands international and the Nerazzurri had stalled over salary demands, Soren Lerby explained to De Telegraaf that a reunion with Jose Mourinho in Madrid was a 'serious option' for the 26-year-old.
However, the former Ajax star has dismissed the possibility.
"We're talking about a contract extension with Inter because I want to stay here in Milan. I hope that these negotiations will be concluded as soon as possible," he claimed on his Twitter account.
"I rule out a return to Real Madrid because I haven't forgotten the events of long ago. Real Madrid are a very strong team coached by a person who allowed me to win all trophies with my current team.
"I repeat for the umpteenth time (I wouldn't repeat it again) that I'll be at Inter this season and if I renewed my contract, I'll be with Inter until the end of that [deal]."
Sneijder is one of the main candidates for the Ballon d'Or, due to his positive performances that helped Inter win the treble and brought the Oranje to the World Cup final.
