Serie A Players' Strike Suspended As Collective Bargaining Agreement Nears

The Serie A players will not be going on strike the weekend of September 25-26 and action will take place as scheduled.
The strike threatened by Serie A players for September 25-26 has been lifted, according to the latest reports from Italy.

The strike action has been suspended, but not completely cancelled, for the time being until both the players association (AIC) and Lega Serie A can reach a full and coherent consensus regarding the collective bargaining agreement.

However, it's a positive step in the negotiations and an agreement looks to be on the horizon.

Meanwhile, the Serie A holiday schedule looks set to change as well, with head of the AIC Sergio Campagna reportedly confirming that the fixtures set for January 6, will be played on December 22 instead, meaning Italy's top flight will resume on January 9 after the winter break.
