Parma have snapped up Angelo Mariano de Almeida from Lecce, the club have revealed on their official website. The Brazilian, who has an EU passport, was released by the Salentini and the Gialloblu wasted no time in adding the defender to their ranks.
The player has signed a one-year contract with the team, with an option for a further two seasons.
"At last I managed to make the breakthrough I've been looking for after several years," the 29-year-old was quoted as saying by Il Corriere dello Sport.
"Now I want to stay here and start a new career with Parma."
Parma won their first Serie A outing of the season with a 2-0 win over Brescia this past weekend thanks to goals from Valeri Bojinov and Stefano Morrone.
