OFFICIAL: Parma Striker Cristiano Lucarelli Joins Napoli On One-Year Loan

The Naples outfit will have the option to purchase at the end of the loan stint...
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that the club has secured the loan signing of veteran striker Cristiano Lucarelli from Parma.

The announcement was made on Napoli's official club website and Laurentiis revealed the capture before welcoming the 34-year-old to San Paolo.

"The negotiation has been resolved in our favour. I had to keep it a secret for a period of time because I oppose the idea of making it public while negotiations were ongoing because of the complications and uncertainty of [German] Denis' move to Udinese.

"Now, Lucarelli is ours and I am pleased to welcome him to our family," the supremo added.

Lucarelli then expressed his delight to have made the switch to the Partenopei.

"I'm glad the deal is finally done. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to play in the Napoli shirt at the San Paolo infront of the club's exceptional fans.

"It's a dream come true and to be able to achieve this at 34 years of age is even more beautiful," he beamed.

Lucarelli spent the last season on loan at Livorno, but the club's relegation to Serie B saw him return to the Ducali. He has also played for Atalanta, Valencia, Lecce, Torino and a short spell at Shakhtar Donetsk.
