Palermo sporting director Walter Sabatini has affirmed that the Rosanero are not interested in signing Sunderland defender Anton Ferdinand and Maribor midfielder Armin Bacinovic.
Ferdinand was linked to the Sicilian side after he reportedly had a bust-up with coach Steve Bruce, after he questioned the seriousness of a leg injury sustained by the 25-year-old.
"There were offers made for the players, but for various reasons, they were not taken into consideration," Sabatini explained to Itasportpress.it. "Bacinovic is a dynamic midfielder and a quality player.
"As for Ferdinand, he is physically strong and I like him as a player. But the society decided to renounce on him because we do not need another central defender in the side," added the director.
The Rosanero have added Kamil Glik, Ezequiel Munoz and Matteo Darmian to the side's defence since the start of the summer transfer window. Simon Kjaer left the squad and joined Wolfsburg.
Fiorentina are now set to step up their inquiries in the Black Cats' defender.
