Highly rated youngster Andrea Poli could be on his way out of Italian outfit Sampdoria as Serie A powerhouse Juventus have shown an interest in signing the midfielder, if a report in Tuttosport is to be believed.
The Turin side are looking for a new midfielder because of the departure of Christian Poulsen to Liverpool earlier this week and Juventus supposedly see the 20-year-old Poli as the perfect addition to their squad.
Juventus have previously been linked with players such as Riccardo Montolivo (Fiorentina), Angelo Palombo (Sampdoria) and Cristian Ledesma (Lazio), but new head coach Luigi Del Neri would supposedly prefer to sign Poli because of his young age.
Poli started his professional career with Treviso, but joined Sampdoria on a co-ownership deal in January 2007. He was farmed out on loan to Sassuolo in 2008-09 before returning to Sampdoria last summer. The young midfielder has since developed into a key player at the Blucerchiati and has been linked with a move to a bigger club more than once.
Sampdoria are reluctant to let go of the Italy under-21 star, but could opt to sell him if they fail to make it to the group stage of the Champions League. The Genoa side lock horns with Werder Bremen later this month.
