Genoa boss Gian Piero Gasperini has revealed striker Giuseppe Sculli is on the verge of joining Inter.
The 29-year-old is seen as a potential replacement for Mario Balotelli, who is close to joining English side Manchester City.
"Sculli is practically an Inter player," Gasperini said to Pianetagenoa1893.net. "He is almost ready to leave."
The Beneamata have aleady signed defender Andrea Ranocchia on a co-ownership deal with the Grifoni, but will play for Gasperini's side in the 2010-11 campaign.
The Genoa coach's statement seems to contradict comments from Inter technical director Marco Branca who said earlier today that the Nerazzurri have not tabled a bid for the striker.
Inter's first match of the Serie A season is against Bologna on August 29. Currently, the Champions League holders find themselves in North America, and will take on Dallas in a pre-season friendly on Thursday, August 5.
