Inter striker Mario Balotelli did not travel with his team-mates to Toronto, Canada to face Greek side Panathinaikos in a pre-season friendly.
Inter.it claim that the Italian international had problems travelling with his fellow Beneamata team-mates due to problems with his passport. Balotelli allegedly lost his travel documents, meaning he could not exit the US, play the match and then re-enter the country prior to the Nerazzurri's next encounter.
Instead, the 19-year-old has remained in the US, and will meet up with the rest of the side when they return to face MLS outfit FC Dallas later this week.
Balotelli is close to joining English side Manchester City, but the two clubs have not been able to finalise the deal. The Nerazzurri are seeking €30 million for the forward, whilst the Eastlands club are only willing to offer €26m.
