Juventus could beat Roma to Nicolas Burdisso as negotiations between the Giallorossi and Inter for the defender continue to stall, according to Tuttosport.

The Argentina international spent last season on loan, impressing at the Stadio Olimpico and the capital club have been trying to reach an agreement with the Nerazzurri. The player himself has also made his intentions clear he would like to continue with Roma.

However, coach Claudio Ranieri suggested on Friday that his side could not meet Inter's asking price for the 29-year-old and now Juventus have joined the race.

The player's agent, Fernando Hidalgo, did not rule out the possibility of a move to the Old Lady of Italian football.

"Nicolas has expressed his desire but it does not only depend on us," he explained.

"The interest of Juventus? It honours us. There would not be any transfer problems."
