Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has told the press that striker Edinson Cavani will indeed be leaving for Napoli this summer.

Reports emerged on Wednesday that the Uruguayan international would be on the move in a €16 million deal to the Partenopei and now it has finally been confirmed by Zamparini.

"An agreement between Palermo and Napoli exists," he was quoted as saying by Il Mattino.

"I'm sorry to strengthen a direct competitior, but Cavani absolutely did not want to stay at Palermo because there were a couple of unpleasant incidents, therefore we promised he would be sold and have now obliged."

Cavani will slot into a strike force that already includes the likes of Ezequiel Lavezzi and Fabio Quagliarella. He bagged 13 goals in Serie A for the Rosanero in 2009-10.
