Inter are prepared to allow Maicon to leave for Real Madrid if a "Madrid style" offer comes in for the Brazilian, according to Rafael Benitez's personal assistant Amadeo Carboni.
It is understood that los Merengues have tabled a bid of €25 million but that falls some way short of the European champions €35 million valuation bu Carboni believes an improved bid will see the two club's do business.
"Maicon is an awesome player who is ahead of [Daniel] Alves for Brazil, but he is 30-years-old [he is 28]. If the offer they need to make comes, I'd support the release [of the player]. If a Madrid-style offer comes, he'd be sold because his career is ending," Carboni is quoted as saying by AS.
Maicon's agent Antonio Caliendo says the player has a greater hunger for trophies with Madrid now that he has won everything with the Nerazzurri and is hopeful a deal can be completed.
"Maicon has won everything this season at Inter, and today has more hunger for titles with Real Madrid than Inter. [Massimo] Moratti and Florentino [Perez] are good friends. I hope that for the good of all, they will be able to find the middle ground," he said.
