Roma Will Be Stronger With Flamengo's Adriano - Claudio Ranieri

Claudio Ranieri has justified the expected arrival of Adriano from Flamengo, claiming Roma will be far stronger with him.

The coach expects to see an all round improvement in the team following a stellar campaign in which they came just minutes away from winning the Scudetto.

Ranieri has said he will take a calculated approach on the transfer market as he screens those who can stay and go.

"I expect a stronger Roma because we achieved an extraordinary campaign," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"We know where we need to intervene, and we will try to accomodate those who want to leave.

"As for Adriano, I am happy about his arrival. Roma can help him to regenerate."

Adriano left Inter in 2009 because of a number of personal problems that affected his effort on the pitch.

Ranieri feels there will be no need for the carrot and the stick treatment in the capital.

"I will not go around at night with a loud-hailer calling my players back in from bars," he added.

"Adriano is 28 and he can manage his own lifestyle. I cure things on the pitch, after that my players are free to do what they like."
