Bari coach Giampiero Ventura is aiming to keep defender Andrea Ranocchia for the 2010-11 campaign.

The 22-year-old formed one of the best defensive partnerships in Serie A alongside Leonardo Bonucci, but his season ended early when he picked up a knee injury in January. Nonetheless, his form has attracted interest from a host of Italian clubs.

"We will certainly lose [Leonardo] Bonucci, because it's right that he now gets to play for a more important club," Ventura told Sky Sport 24.

"Ranocchia is a different matter though, after his injury another year at Bari could be just the thing for him to prove himself and move along the same road as Bonucci in the future."

Ranocchia has spent the last two seasons on loan at Bari from Genoa, but has previously stated he would like to remain at the southern Italian club for one more season.
