Zdenek Zeman has spoken of his delight after Inter President Massimo Moratti revealed that the tactician is candidate to succeed Jose Mourinho at the San Siro.
Moratti told GazzettaTv yesterday: “It would be a show of appreciation to the man and the coach. I could go for him who is young in the mind.”
And Zeman, who has been out of work since a brief stint at Red Star Belgrade in 2008, says he could not resist coming out of retirement if Inter came calling.
“I thank Moratti very much,” he told the Corriere dello Sport website.
“I am really proud to know that he is thinking of me too for the Nerazzurri bench.
“It is an honour for me to be linked with Inter. Moratti has built an exceptional group. It would be fantastic to coach a team that are full of talent and champions.”
However, Moratti suggested yesterday that England manager Fabio Capello remains his prime target for the job.
