Andrea Ranocchia Wants To Remain On Loan At Bari Next Season

The centre-back is on the mend, but would like to play for the Galletti again in 2010-11...
Bari defender Andrea Ranocchia is on the verge of recovering from a knee injury he picked up in February which ruled him out for the remainder of the Serie A season. The 22-year-old had been one of the most impressive centre-backs in Serie A alongside team-mate Leonardo Bonucci.

"Now I have recovered. Professor [Pier Paolo] Mariani has said my knee is doing well and I will be ready in late May," he revealed to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"The league, however, will finish before then, but I'll be ready for the next retreat."

The player is currently on loan from Serie A side Genoa and has reportedly attracted interest from larger clubs like Juventus and Inter, but his wish is to play one more year at the San Nicola.

"I will train with Genoa for three weeks, but in these last few months I haven't watched a match because it's too hard to see others play," he stated.

"I have asked Genoa if I can stay another season with the Biancorossi. I know it may not be easy, but why not try?"
