Bedy Moratti Philosophical After Inter Relinquish Top Spot To Roma

Bedy Moratti says Inter must get over the fact they have been leapfrogged by Roma at the top of the Serie A table and go into Friday’s clash with Juventus with a cool head to try and regain the leadership.

“There is no need for counts in football, and we won’t have to do any in our next round,” the sister of Inter owner Massimo Moratti told Tuttomercatoweb last night after the Nerazzurri advanced to the Coppa Italia final at the expense of Fiorentina.

“I think that Roma will do the same against Lazio in the derby. The Giallorossi did well in overtaking us, but this is football.

“As for the Coppa Italia, we wanted to progress and played with more determination than we did on Saturday.”

Inter defeated Fiorentina 1-0 at the Franchi yesterday to complete a 2-0 aggregate win in their last-four Coppa Italia tie.

But the Beneamata were held to a costly 2-2 draw by the Tuscans in the league last weekend as Roma moved top of the standings after defeating Atalanta 2-1.
