Inter's Wesley Sneijder Denies Making Obscene Gesture Towards Fiorentina Bench

Despite not playing any of the 90 minutes against Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg, Inter midfielder Wesley Sneijder was still able to capture the headlines.

This time, the Dutchman is accused of making an umbrella-like [arm of honour] gesture towards the Viola bench.

 "I did not make any obscene gesture directed at the Viola bench or fans whilst I was exiting the pitch," Sneijder told Sportal in the mixed zone post-match. "I was only joking around with my team-mates and friends.

The influential midfielder was rested because of the Beneamata's upcoming encounters against bitter rivals Juventus in the league and Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Inter went on to win the match 1-0 thanks to a Samuel Eto'o goal, and will meet either Roma or Udinese in the final.
