OFFICIAL: Cagliari Sack Coach Massimiliano Allegri

The Isolani boss has been let go...
Cagliari have decided to sack coach Massimiliano Allegri, citing no specific reason for the decision.

The Rossoblu released a statement announcing that Allegri had been relieved of his duties in charge of the team, with youth team coach Giorgio Melis set to take over until the end of the season.

"We wish to thank Allegri for all the work he has done here at the club, and wish him all the best for the future," the statement on Cagliaricalcio.it concluded.

Allegri has been in charge of the Isolani since 2008, taking over from Davide Ballardini. The team had only earned two points from it's last eight matches.

Allegri has also been linked with coaching roles at both Juventus and Fiorentina next season.
