Coppa Italia Winners Should Be Given Champions League Chance - Fiorentina Boss Cesare Prandelli

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has suggested the Coppa Italia winners be rewarded with a Champions League place, according to firenzeviola.it.

"The format of the Coppa Italia should be reviewed," he said at the pre-match press conference ahead of the semi-final second leg against Inter.

"And why not, that whoever wins has the chance to directly enter into the Champions League."

He then turned his attention to the match at hand and interestingly had a wish for a situation that most want to avoid. Inter hold a 1-0 lead from the first leg at the San Siro.

"We have to stay in the game until the end. It will not only require patience, but also clear tactics. We must play thinking that whenever we have the ball, we can build something important," he continued.

"I don't see a comparison with the UEFA Cup matches [two years ago] against Rangers. At that time everyone  thought we would have an easy game, but we lost on spot-kicks. Tomorrow, I hope to get to penalties," he concluded.

The two sides played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in Serie A on Saturday.
