Juventus Set To Miss Out On Palermo Defender Simon Kjaer

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has said there is little prospect of Simon Kjaer joining Juventus in the summer.

His comments come just hours after La Gazzetta Dello Sport claimed Juve were ready to invest in the Danish defender.

But Zamparini is highly sceptical, claiming Palermo will not bow to pressure over selling their prized assets once the transfer market reopens for business.

In addition, he accused the report as being nothing more than transfer tittle-tattle.

"I am certain that no one will leave Palermo and it's [Gazzetta's report] not true, it's false what has been written as we have not had contact with any club," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"Juventus are not used to making mega offers. Also, they have never asked us for Kjaer, and we have a good relationship with them.

"Furthermore, we do not want to sell him to Juventus in any case."
