The agent of Inter striker Mario Balotelli has rushed to do damage control after the 19-year-old was pictured trying on the shirt of the Nerazzuri’s city rivals Milan on Canale 5 comedy show 'Striscia La Notizia' last night.
Balotelli was presented with the infamous ‘Golden Tapir’ because he is reportedly sulking after being frozen out of the squad by boss Jose Mourinho.
And ‘Super Mario’ was also given a Milan jersey as a gift, which he appeared to enjoy, pulling it on after he thought the TV crew had turned off the cameras.
“It all stemmed from a prank,” agent Mino Raiola explained to Antenna3.
“They don’t understand that they are making a big deal out of this when it’s not the case. I am very disappointed with the standard of Striscia La Notizia.
“I take it as a prank on a 19-year-old who perhaps does not think of the consequences of what he does. Striscia’s standards are very low.
“We just want a little peace for the lad. We didn’t need this. I hope the fans will understand it was a prank. We can’t take a satirical show seriously.
“He wants to improve the rapport [with the club]. But it takes two parties to improve it. He can’t do it on his own.”
