Inter President Massimo Moratti Explains Jose Mourinho's Handcuff Gesture

The Italian chief has broken the club's press silence...
Inter president Massimo Moratti has tried to explain Jose Mourinho's handcuff gesture, witnessed during the 0-0 draw with Sampdoria on Saturday.

Mourinho was seen clasping his wrists together in a statement against referees after his side were reduced to nine men. A club press silence has prevented the coach from explaining what he meant, but Moratti has done it for him.

"What do the handcuffs mean? He did it, he knows, so he should explain," Moratti told the press.

"But, I think he was trying to say that someone is trying to stop us."

Inter may have stopped winning in Serie A, but Moratti hopes for change in the Champions League as Chelsea come to town.

"Playing in Milan we must not suffer numerical disadvantages. We need to be careful, and we need some luck," he continued.

"But, having played with nine men, this could give us encouragement when we have 11 on the field."
