Argentinian striker Mariano Pavone has completed his move to Serie A with Catania, according to reports in Italian daily La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Pavone will hook up with fellow compatriot Maxi Lopez to form an all-Argentine frontline for the Rossazzurri.
Catania president Nino Pulvirenti is delighted with the club’s double acquisition and confirmed the Sicilian outfit have achieved their objective of injecting some new firepower in the club.
"With Maxi Lopez and Pavone, we have improved both operations targeted in our project. These are elements of great value that will make a significant contribution immediately, but which also represent a specific investment for the future,” he said.
The 27-year-old cost almost €7 million when Hector Cuper purchased him from Estudiantes in 2007 but failed to find his scoring touch with Beticos del Universo.
