Georgian international Levan Mchedlidze is unaware of interest from Serie A side Napoli, according to the player’s agent Davide Torchia.
“That sounds new to me,” the representative admitted to Calciomercato.com.
“These kinds of whispers come out often but there is nothing concrete at the moment.”
Mchedlidze was to spend the whole season on loan at Palermo from Serie B side Empoli, but the 19-year-old fell out with the Rosanero after failing to return to Sicily on time after the Christmas break.
And La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Napoli have pinpointed the youngster to bolster their attacking options.
“I have not heard from Napoli,” added Torchia. “But the player is clearly on the market as the club have said it in no uncertain terms.
“[Palermo] don’t want him any more and my job is to now find another team for him. The player will go back to Empoli and the club directors will decide what to do.”
