Walter Sabatini: Roma To Face Competition To Sign Palermo Midfielder Fabio Simplicio

The Brazilian will be out of contract in the summer and the Giallorossi are reportedly in pole position to secure his services...
Palermo director of sport Walter Sabatini has dismissed reports that midfielder Fabio Simplicio has already picked his next destination.

The 30-year-old has only five months left to run on his contract with the Sicilians and is unlikely to pledge his future to the Stadio Barbera outfit.

And press reports have suggested that the former Parma man has already agreed terms to join Roma on a three-year deal next summer.

“I don’t know about it, it could happen as Roma are a serious candidate but I reckon that other sides are after him.”

AC Milan have been linked with Simplicio in the past and could revive their interest at the end of the season, while Lazio are also said to be monitoring the situation.

“But I reiterate that Simplicio is still a Palermo player for the time being and we don’t have to make such a big deal out of it,” concluded Sabatini.
