Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has publicly denied his club are in talks with Roma over the potential transfer of Brazilian midfielder Fabio Simplicio.
"I categorically deny that Roma had contacted Fabio Simplicio," asromalive.com quoted Zamparini as saying.
“Simplicio, some days I look in to his eyes and wonder. For all we know, he has been in contact with Lazio and Roma. He has three or four years left in his career and wants to get as much money as possible."
Finally, the Rosanero president went on to offer some kind words to current Roma coach Claudio Ranieri, insisting that Juventus find themselves in their current predicament because they let the former Chelsea man go.
"Ranieri was Juve’s biggest mistake,” he said. “To remove a coach of that experience and that charisma. He was perfect for Juve. Often haste is a bad decision maker. I tell you that in their haste they are often mistaken.”
