Despite suggestions that Mario Bolatti was ready to shun Barcelona and Fiorentina for Boca Juniors, the midfielder is close to securing a transfer to the Italian club, according to Sky Sport 24.
The player, currently owned by Portuguese outfit Porto, had a very successful loan spell at Huracan in Argentina and has become of interest to many clubs throughout Europe.
Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is said to be wrapping up the permanent transfer of the 24-year-old. No financial details of the potential deal have been released.
The Viola have been an active force on the transfer market this winter, already picking up starlet Adem Ljajic and selling defender Dario Dainelli to Genoa. Rumours also persists that the club are hoping to swap winger Mario Santana with Roma's Matteo Brighi.
