Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder has spoken of his satisfaction after curling in two impressive free-kicks last weekend to help Italian champions Inter defeat lowly Siena 4-3 at the San Siro.
“I netted two nice goals against Siena,” he told the Corriere dello Sport.
“Particularly the first one which was perhaps the best of my career.”
Inter sit eight points clear at the top of Serie A and the former Ajax and Real Madrid man is hoping to complete a league treble this term.
“After winning in Holland and Spain, I’d like to do it in Italy too,” he mused. “Then again, it’s still too far away.”
Romanian defender Cristian Chivu suffered a fractured skull during a match with Chievo Verona on January 6 and is unlikely to play again this season.
“We were all shocked after it happened,” confessed Sneijder.
“But luckily things are now getting better and better.”
