Player Ratings: Inter 4-3 Siena

Two late goals for Inter rescued victory from the jaws of defeat in a wild affair at the Giuseppe Meazza. rates the players on show…

Julio Cesar: 5 – He had virtually nothing to do in the first half except to pick the ball out of his net on two occasions. Was beaten once more by Maccarone in the second 45 minutes and will be grateful that the Nerazzurri still won despite conceding three goals.

Maicon: 5 - His worst game of the season for Inter. Left his flank exposed and gave away possession too many times to count.

Cordoba: 5 - Was caught napping a couple of times at the back and Inter paid the price. Maccarone got the better of the Colombian on numerous occasions.

Lucio: 6 - He did not seem to be on the same page as his defensive partner Cordoba tonight. Made some ferocious tackles but was pulled out of position one time too many.

Zanetti: 7 - The captain slotted seamlessly into a left-back role and pushed forward at will with his trademark runs. Moved into the midfield after Samuel came on to start the second half.

Stankovic: 6.5 - Won the free kick that set up Sneijder’s first goal but was replaced when he seemed to pick up an injury before the start of the second half.

Sneijder: 9 - The Dutchman pulled the strings in the final third once again for the Beneamata. Provided the pass that set up Milito’s goal and scored two himself from dead ball situations. Simply outstanding tonight.

Thiago Motta: 5
-He was nowhere to be found when Maccarone was allowed to run at the Inter defence and wallop a shot past Julio Cesar. It only got worse from there for the former Genoa midfielder who was pelted with a smattering of jeers when he left the pitch in the 67th minute.

Pandev: 6.5 - The pride of Macedonia was robbed by Curci in the seventh minute but faded away for the majority of the match before popping up and providing the assist for Samuel’s winner.

Milito: 7.5 - His off the ball movement was second to none tonight and he opened the scoring for Inter with a well placed shot that found the bottom corner. Was not as much of a threat in the second period but still kept the Siena backline on their toes.

Quaresma: 5 - The Portuguese winger made a rare Serie A start but did not make the most of his opportunity. Was not confident on the ball and the final product was always lacking. Hooked for Walter Samuel of all people at the half.

Samuel: 7 - Did not look comfortable playing as a full-back but will earn most of the plaudits with a clinical finish deep in injury time.

Arnautovic: 6 - Did not provide the spark that Jose Mourinho would have liked but showed some flashes of his talent.

Stevanovic: 6 - The youngster was thrust into a difficult situation but made the most of it as his team rallied to win the match.

Curci: 6 – Made a great save on Pandev in the ninth minute but conceded two goals after that. He made way for Pegolo to start the second half.

Rosi: 5 - Returned after an injury layoff and needed treatment on three different occasions. Gave away the free kick on the edge of his own area that led to Sneijder’s first goal.

Brandao: 5 - Had a tough time dealing with the runs of Milito in the first half and was left with egg on his face for Samuel’s winner.

Cribari: 5 - The former Lazio defender was guilty of giving Milito too much space in the leadup to Inter’s first goal of the match.

Del Grosso: 6 - The defender showed off his technique when he pushed forward during the second half. The best of the bunch for Siena at the back.

Codrea: 7 - Won his midfield battle over Thiago Motta tonight and was the spark that led Siena's dangerous counter-attacks.

Ekdal: 7.5 - The Juventus-owned Swedish youngster looked comfortable on the ball and was rewarded for his hard work with a deserved goal. Fans of the Old Lady will be salivating at the prospect of Ekdal haunting the Nerazzurri for years to come.

Vergassola: 7 - The Bianconeri captain kept the team’s midfield tight but missed a glorious chance in the 62nd minute. Will be proud of his side’s performance once the agony of the cruel defeat wears off.

Reginaldo: 7.5 - Provided the cross for Ekdal’s goal and made a major nuisance of himself when Siena hit the hosts on the counter. Cut the ball back to Maccarone for his second of the game and used his speed on the flanks to great effect.

Jajalo: 6 - The Croatian was a pain in Maicon’s side all night as he harried and harangued the Brazilian defender into a plethora of mistakes.

Maccarone: 8.5 - Siena’s leading scorer added another two goals to his growing tally. His first strike will be on all the highlight shows tonight and his second was not too shabby as well. Embarrassed Cordoba on a number of occasions and will be devastated that his performance did not result in a victory for Siena.

Pegolo: 6 – Did a solid job considering the circumstances and claimed a plethora of crosses as his own but will be disappointed that he conceded two late goals.

Fini: 5.5 – Did not shore up the midfield as well as his coach would have liked.

Jarolim: NA – Was brought on to help protect Siena’s lead but failed miserably in that regard.
