Atalanta striker Roberto Acquafresca enjoyed his first goal with his new team on Sunday as they obtained a precious 2-0 win away to bottom side Siena in the 13th matchday of Serie A.
Acquafresca wanted to thank the club and fans for showing patience towards him, despite a poor start to this campaign, but now he hopes to repay them with more goals.
"First of all, I must thank the club and fans for the trust they gave me, also after the bad start to the season," declared the former Cagliari player to gazzetta.it.
"Settling myself here in Bergamo was more difficult than at Cagliari, but these are moments which help a player to grow.
"That missed chance in front of goal was incredible, I don't know how I could get it wrong, but now I'm happy that I opened myself up, especially since the overall performance was positive."
Atalanta are now in 14th place along with Lazio, Bologna and Livorno as all teams have 12 points from 13 games played.
