Parma midfield talent McDonald Mariga is aware of press reports claiming that Fiorentina are interested in his services, but has insisted that the Viola have yet to make contact with his representatives.
“Fiorentina are a great team,” the 22-year-old admitted to Tuttomercatoweb after facing the Gigliati at the Stadio Franchi last night.
“I have heard whispers about them, but I honestly don’t know anything about it.”
Mariga, who has also been associated with Milan in recent months, made a substitute appearance in Florence as the Ducali defeated their more illustrious opponents 3-2.
The result has seen the Serie A newcomers move into third place in the standings after an outstanding start to the campaign and they could now target a place in Europe.
“I am feeling much better now, but I am particularly happy with this win,” said Mariga.
“It’s crucial for our survival hopes, although we might set the bar a little higher after this success.”
